Being a boss at workplace is a such lonesome work.Evrybody hates you for no reason,Your past friends become strangers to you.Your employees keep searching for a time when u leave office and start blabbering about you.your one decision for the better of the work place create war in the office. Every time you keep thinking for the better of the employees but they never realize the work you do .it is never paid of .All you want is a friendly environment where everyone understands that decision are made for better of themselves. yet the past negligence keep repeating. You are being blamed for not understanding their feelings.they never know the pressure on you.. the works you do...I agree there are few employers who are just the opposite of this ,those who always think of themselves and pressure the employees. But all are not like that.
Today being in such a position i am being blamed for not understanding ones feeling when i know it was a fair decision. Never expected this yet have to be aware of such things.
So for all the good employers here is best tip for you. All You have to believe is you can never please everyone.
And remind your self that it wouldn't be easy and throughout the job you will face challenges that you never thought of .Act like a boss no matter what.

Well. Well said. Being a Boss is not a joke. One has to throw balls with both hands (subject & management). Here applicale, it seems, 'no pains no gains'. You got the trade secret as clear as in a mirror. One has to do ones duty. Hope you can manage well. Am I wrong ? Thanking You with Best Wishes.
I can only imagine how hard it must be for you. Since I study business too, we sometimes have to deal with employees and bosses, and this is really true.

Been a boss means a lot. It'd make u go mad when some very good decisions for the employees are taken and when they blindly refuse plus they accuse you of so many things.
A right boss will be able to tolerate all and still be able to take the right decision at the right time in the right manner.

hey boss,sorry for the late comment:) i saw your post via mail and read it. but could not comment then.:) as the title goes, i shud say do boss around since your the boss. show them who is the boss.
do survive, manage well, treat them fairly. thats all it takes. take care. and yeah! dont fall in love with an employee.. that wud suck ur principles.
